Job summary

Qualifications

• 4+ years of paralegal experience assisting attorneys on insurance defense matters.
• Nevada Registered Paralegal designation is a plus.
• Discovery and trial experience preferred.
• Nevada State and Federal Court filing including E-Filing experience required.
• Advanced computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint for mediation and trial presentations.

Responsibilities

Due to continued growth, Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., a multi-office national firm, has an immediate opening for a full-time Paralegal for our Henderson, NV Office. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package offered.

JOB SUMMARY:

The individual in this role primarily supports attorneys with insurance defense litigation. This is a hands-on position that involves working collaboratively with clients and employees of the firm.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Organizes and analyzes documentary evidence, including contracts, records,medical records,reports, depositions, discovery, investigative, and other documents and summaries. Interpretation and preparation of chronologies and summaries as requested.
• Under attorney direction, drafts and prepares correspondence and other written documents as required, including responses, reports, filings, pleadings, answers, motions, interrogatories, contracts, opinions, position papers, letters, etc.,and other documents as necessary.
• Prepares and handles tracking and disposition of subpoenas or other requestsfor information.
• Ensuresorganization of files, including maintenance and management. Communicates with clients, witnesses, and experts.
• Monitors files and escalates issues requiring attorney involvement. Performs timely handling of highly sensitive issues and materials related to the case.
• Maintains calendar for trial and discovery deadlines. Obtains trial settings, coordinates, and assists in preparation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• 4+ yearsof prior paralegal experience assisting attorneys handling insurance defense litigation matters
• Nevada Registered Paralegal designation is a plus
• Discovery and trial experiencepreferred
• Nevada State and Federal Court filing, including E-Filing experience required
• Advanced computer skills, includingMS Word,PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel, arerequired
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint required. Experience assembling PowerPoint presentations for mediation and trial a plus
• Ability to work well with a team
• Requires critical thinking skills, superior communication and organizational skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• High SchoolDiploma orits equivalent

Physical Demands

This employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. They will also engage in bending, stretching, reaching, and other ranges of motion in the course of a working day. They will engage in lifting supplies and materials up to 25 pounds from time to time. While performing duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear.

Working Conditions

This job is located primarily in an indoor office environment with varying noise levels. There may be varying degrees of temperature. The employee may be interrupted from time to time.
