Job summary

Benchmark Human Services is seeking an in-office Paralegal to provide administrative and legal research support at our Fort Wayne, IN office. The ideal candidate will possess a paralegal degree along with a minimum of three years’ experience in the field.

Your responsibilities will include drafting legal documents, assisting corporate attorneys, and maintaining contracts. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and PTO, alongside opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

  • Possess a 2- or 4-year paralegal degree from an accredited institution or equivalent education/experience.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as a paralegal.
  • Transactional and litigation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative assistance and legal research support to corporate attorneys.
  • Draft correspondence and legal documents.
  • Follow-up on contracts with governmental and private entities.
  • Assist in preparing cases for litigation.
  • Organize and maintain contracts.
  • Research employment issues and assist with agency submissions.

Our corporate office in Fort Wayne, IN is hiring an in-office Paralegal to provide administrative, research and general support to corporate counsel. Wage rate commensurate with experience and education.

Job Functions and Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative assistance and legal research assistance to corporate attorneys.
  • Draft correspondence.
  • Draft simple and complex legal documents.
  • Follow-up on contracts with governmental and private entities.
  • Assist in preparing cases for and in litigation.
  • Prepare and submit applications for various local and state licensing.
  • Provide logistical assistance as needed (i.e., calendaring, filing, etc.).
  • Organize in execution and internal and external tracking of contracts.
  • Act as liaison with internal departments and personnel.
  • Accurately and timely maintain projects, noting significant developments or communications as needed.
  • Answer and place phone calls and respond to emails.
  • Research employment issues and assist in preparation of EEOC and other agency/court submissions.
  • Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals.

  • Knowledge of standard office technology and Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications
