Job summary

FINITETEK INC is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to manage landlord-side real estate and unlawful detainer matters from intake through judgment. The role emphasizes California civil procedure, high-volume caseload management, and strong drafting and discovery skills.

The ideal candidate will have a CA paralegal certificate, 3+ years of litigation experience, and familiarity with Clio Manage and LA Superior Court e-filing.

Qualifications

• California civil litigation paralegal experience is required.
• Three or more years of litigation experience preferred; substantial experience with fewer years will also be considered.
• Experience drafting legal pleadings, motions, and declarations for attorney review.
• Ability to respond to form and special interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
• Experience tracking discovery deadlines and preparing motions to compel.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently from intake through judgment.
• Knowledge of California civil procedure and filing deadlines; familiarity with LA housing regs.

Responsibilities

• Draft complaints, demurrers, oppositions, and ex parte applications for attorney review.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests; track deadlines.
• Prepare motions to compel; manage case files and trial preparation.
• Coordinate unlawful detainers, real property disputes, and breach of contract matters.
• Utilize practice management software to maintain case accuracy and conduct e-filing.
• Work independently with minimal supervision in a high-volume litigation setting.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to manage cases from intake through judgment for a landlord-side real estate and unlawful detainer litigation practice based in Los Angeles, California. The ideal candidate will have strong California civil litigation experience, knowledge of California civil procedure, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently. Responsibilities include drafting complaints, demurrers, oppositions, and ex parte applications for attorney review; preparing and responding to discovery requests; tracking deadlines; preparing motions to compel; managing case files; and coordinating trial preparation. The role involves handling unlawful detainers, real property disputes, and breach of contract matters while ensuring compliance with applicable California and Los Angeles housing regulations. This is a fully remote opportunity with direct access to the firm's principal and opportunities for professional growth. Candidates do not need to reside in California but must have experience working on California cases.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Real estate litigation or unlawful detainer experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of discovery procedures and litigation workflows.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting strict deadlines.
• Excellent legal drafting, proofreading, and case management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume litigation environment.
• Familiarity with the Los Angeles City Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO) and Los Angeles County Rent Stabilization and Tenant Protection Ordinance (RSTPO) is beneficial.
• Bilingual Spanish language skills are a plus but not required
