Stelton Consulting is seeking a litigation paralegal to own the workflow of a case from intake through judgment, working directly with the principal supervisor. This role is fully remote within California and focuses on fast-paced, high-volume litigation workflows, particularly in civil procedure.
You will draft complaints and motions, manage discovery, and coordinate case management across unlawful detainers, real property disputes, and breach of contract matters.
We are looking for a litigation paralegal who can own the workflow of a case from intake through judgment. You will work directly with the firm's principal, who supervises all work, but you will not be waiting for a task list. You will look at a file, see the answer was filed, and start the discovery.
This is a growth seat. If you are solid on California civil procedure and want to move from support work into running files, this is that step.
Drafting: Prepare complaints (UD and civil), demurrers, oppositions, and ex parte applications for attorney review. Templates exist for most of it and you will build from there.
Discovery: Propound and respond to form and special interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission. Track the deadlines and prepare motions to compel when responses do not come.
Case management: Carry a high-volume caseload of unlawful detainers, real property disputes, and breach of contract matters.
Trial prep: Build trial binders, exhibit lists, and witness lists, and make sure the file is trial-ready.
Compliance: Work within the LA City RSO and LA County RSTPO and keep filings statutorily clean.
Unlawful detainer is fast. Discovery responses are due in five days, not thirty. Discovery motions can be heard on five days notice. If you have only worked standard civil timelines, this will feel quick. If you have worked fast-track or high-volume litigation, you will be fine.
REQUIRED: 3+ years of California civil litigation paralegal experience. Applicants without civil litigation experience will not be considered. Real estate or unlawful detainer experience is a plus, but we care most about your command of California civil procedure.
Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program, or otherwise qualified under Business and Professions Code section 6450.
A clear writer. You can put together a motion or declaration that an attorney can review and file.
Comfortable with practice management software (Clio Manage preferred) and LASC e-filing.
Bilingual Spanish is a plus, not required.
Fully remote, anywhere in California. Modern stack - Clio, Slack, OpenPhone. No archaic systems.
You own the workflow. All legal work is reviewed and supervised by the firm's principal, as California law requires, but nobody is going to hover over your calendar.
Direct line to the attorney making the decisions. No layers.
