Job summary

Groton Public Schools is seeking paraeducators for Thames River Magnet Elementary School. The position starts August 31, 2026 and offers an hourly rate of $17.94, with wages in accordance with the Groton Paraeducators Chapter CSEA/SEIU Local 2001 agreement.

Qualifications

  • Completed two years of college credit (60 credits total)
  • Hold an associate's (or higher) degree
  • Passed the ParaPro/ParaPathways Assessment within 90 days of start date
  • Ability to work with children with multiple needs
  • Capacity to implement lessons written by the Special Education Teacher
  • Ability to work cooperatively with Administration, Regular Education Teachers, other assigned Staff, and Parents
  • Flexible, dependable, and responsive to new ideas and direction

Hourly Rate: $17.94 per hour – Wages in accordance with the CBA for the Groton Paraeducators Chapter CSEA/SEIU Local 2001

Qualifications

    • Completed two years of college credit (60 credits total)
    • Hold an associate's (or higher) degree

  • Ability to work with children with multiple needs
