Sylvania is seeking a Paraeducator Special Education to support students with disabilities across multiple settings, coordinating with teachers and staff. The position is full-time, 184 days per year, 6.5 hours per day, with responsibilities spanning instruction support, behavior management, and progress documentation.
The candidate must have a high school diploma, PCA certification within 30 days, and may need 60 credits or an AA degree or pass ParaEducator/ParaPro exams.

High School Diploma or equivalent. Personal Care Assistant certification required to be completed within 30 days of start date.
Candidates must have completed 60 semester/90 quarter credits or have an associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution or have passed the ParaEducator exam or ParaPro exam. Documentation required.
Good communication, interpersonal, recordkeeping skills. Ability to work with technology and computers. Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff. Ability to supervise students. Ability to take direction. Ability to maintain regular attendance, including completing assigned day.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices, materials handling, data functions, and people functions—not limited to toileting, feeding, self-care procedures, implementing behavioral management program, maintaining student data, working with students who may display aggressive or abusive behavior. Must work physically in the building.
$20.85/hr to $25.50/hr DOQ with K-12 experience.
$22.00/hr to $26.65/hr with AA/AAS degree or 60 semester/90 quarter credits, DOQ with K-12 experience.
$22.85/hr to $27.50/hr with BA degree, DOQ with K-12 experience.
Special Ed Paras serving center-based students and classrooms 50% or more of time receive additional $0.50/hr.
Special Ed Paras at Two Rivers Transition Program receive additional $1.00/hr. Special Ed Paras at River Trail Learning Center receive additional $1.50/hr.
