Job summary

HeyTutor seeks paraprofessionals/paraeducators to assist students in a Long Beach school district. You will work with students from K-12th grade, supporting learning gaps and offering in-person supervision before and during school hours.

Position requires comfort with an in-person FBI-DOJ background check and the ability to work in a classroom with both general and special education students. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 30 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with students and ability to work with kids.
• Comfortable in classroom settings and with special needs students.
• Clear FBI-DOJ background check provided through the employer.
• Comfortable providing bathroom assistance and changing diapers.
• Negative TB test required.
• Must pass an assessment test or have 60 college units.

Responsibilities

• Paraeducators support students across a variety of classroom environments, including general or special education settings.
• Work with teachers to implement instructional programs and accommodations as specified by the IEP.
• Assist in collecting data and observing student progress to inform instruction.
• Supervise students during non-instructional periods as outlined in IEP documents.
• Partner with teachers and other service providers to support student needs.
