Job summary

HeyTutor is hiring paraprofessionals/paraeducators to assist K-12 students in Long Beach, working before and during school hours. You will supervise students, help them catch up on learning gaps, and support teachers in classrooms, including special education settings, with IEP-based tasks.

In-person background checks are required. The role offers consistent tutoring hours and community impact.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with students is required.
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting and with students with special needs.
• Clear FBI-DOJ background check is required.
• Willingness to provide bathroom assistance as needed.
• A negative TB test result is required.
• Must pass an assessment or have 60 college units.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional programs designated by the teacher.
• Assist in collecting behavior data and observation notes.
• Help develop classroom schedules and adapt materials as needed.
• Support teachers and other staff to implement IEP goals.
• Provide safety and supervision during breaks and transitions.
