Job summary

HeyTutor is partnering with a Long Beach school district to hire paraprofessionals who assist K-12 students before and during school hours. You will supervise and help students catch up on learning gaps and support inclusive classrooms as needed.

The role requires comfort with an in-person FBI-DOJ background check and working with students with diverse needs, including those with IEPs. Schedule is Monday–Friday, about 30 hours weekly, with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with students.
• Comfortable in a classroom setting and with students with special needs.
• Clear FBI-DOJ background check (provided through us).
• Comfortable providing bathroom assistance.
• Negative TB Test Result.
• Must pass an assessment test or have 60 college units.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with individualized programmed materials.
• Work with teacher to develop classroom schedules.
• Carry out instructional programs designated by the teacher.
• Assist in collecting behavioral data on individual students.
• Take anecdotal notes on targeted behaviors.
