Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking paraeducator substitutes to support classroom instruction under the direction of a principal. Substitutes may cover Paraeducator Level I–III assignments, with the same hourly rate across levels.

This role is designed for substitutes who, once hired, are pre-screened and eligible to apply to permanent paraeducator positions within MCPS. The hourly rate is $23.42 per hour; this position does not include benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education preferred.
• Experience or exposure to instructional settings is desirable.
• Ability to work with students in structured educational environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers by performing tasks to promote student learning.
• Reinforce instruction, monitor performance, and support learning.
• Provide instructional and classroom management supports as needed.
