Job summary

Adams 12 Five Star Schools in Thornton, CO is seeking a ParaEducator for Special Programs to provide specialized individualized instruction, monitor behaviors, and support students with health and life skills. The role includes assisting in general education settings and supporting IEP implementation.

The position is a replacement–permanent/regular with a 36-hour work week, .90 FTE, nine months per year and a starting hourly range of $21.34–$26.96.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work with students with significant needs (training opportunities provided).

Responsibilities

• Provide support in general education setting in order for students to fully participate in class activities.
• Assist students in Specialized Programs by tutoring, adapting work and monitoring and enforcing social and acceptable behavior.
• Assist with administering testing or assessments and with homework; support implementation of the student’s programming including accommodations and modifications.
• Assist with daily routines and health-related tasks, including mobility and hygiene support as needed.
