Job summary

Mount Vernon School District 320 is seeking a paraeducator for Special Programs to support high-need students under the supervision of teachers and the building principal. The role involves assisting with social and behavioral programs, preparing classroom materials, and documenting student progress in intensive classroom settings.

The position is part-time, follows the 180-day schedule, and classifies under the PSE–I affiliation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree or higher or two years of college or ability to meet state standards in reading, math and writing.
• Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish preferred and/or may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support students in classroom and non-classroom settings.
• Assist with social skills and behavior programs.
• Prepare materials and maintain records of student progress.
• Deliver lessons under supervision and in collaboration with teachers.
• Provide supervision in non-academic settings (playground, bus).
• Assist with personal care as needed and maintain confidentiality.
