Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks a Paraeducator Level I with Focus (4h) / LHA (2h) for Wheaton Woods Elementary School. The position is part-time (60 hours bi-weekly) with a 10-month schedule and a 6-hour workday framework.

The role supports students in mastering curriculum, assists with instruction, and performs related clerical tasks under supervision. Eligibility includes required education credits and possible ParaPro assessment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred and coursework in education such as behavior management or instructional strategies.
• At least 48 college credits and two years of experience in a structured setting; ParaPro score may be required.
• Two years of experience in structured settings; ParaPro Assessment with a qualifying score of 455+.
• Combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing the instructional program and monitoring student behavior.
• Help students master grade-level or above curriculum and support learning activities.
• Provide instructional and classroom management support plus related clerical tasks.
