Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the Integrated Communication & Sensory Program. This 6.5-hour daily, 9-month position supports teachers in delivering specialized instruction and behavior support within a classroom team.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with students with disabilities, and willingness to participate in CPI de-escalation training and mandatory weekend sessions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Official transcripts or ParaPro credentials required.
• Work with children in educational settings preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to de-escalate and manage challenging behavior.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist with mobility if needed.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teacher to implement and evaluate IEP goals.
• Assist with data collection and reporting as directed.
• Provide classroom support and positive role modeling.
• Support students with disabilities and behavior management.
• Attend training and team meetings as appropriate.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Associate’s degree / 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits

ETS ParaPro Assessment 461+

One year of related experience with children in educational setting
