Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools is seeking a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the Integrated Communication & Sensory Program. This one-on-one position is 6 hours per day, 9 months per year and non-exempt under FLSA.

You will work closely with the classroom team to support students with disabilities and implement educational plans. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff to promote student success and safety in daily activities and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits or ETS ParaPro 461+ required.
• One year of related experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Experience in educational team participation preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to support students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with implementing and evaluating IEP goals.
• Provide instructional support and adapt activities for students with disabilities.
• Assist with data collection, record keeping, and materials preparation.
• Support student behavior management and safe classroom conduct.
• Attend weekend trainings and CPI/de-escalation/safety procedures as required.
• Collaborate with staff to promote a positive learning environment.
