Job summary

Paso Robles Joint Unified School District is seeking a Paraeducator III at Paso Robles High School to support instructional activities for students with special needs. Under the direction of the Special Education Director and site administrator, you will work closely with students, provide interventions, and assist in managing behavior as outlined by IEPs.

This 6.5-hour, 10-month position (193 days per year) offers Classified salary Schedule #3, Range 23, with pay dependent on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 48+ college semester units OR certification through District Paraeducator Exam or Certification of Proficiency.
• Experience working with students with Special Education needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional activities for students with special needs.
• Provide interventions and respond to inappropriate behaviors as determined by IEPs.
• Assist with crisis situations and help defuse when necessary.

Job Summary

Paraeducator III at Paso Robles High School 6.5 hours daily **Benefits Available** PCN #260097 Under the direction of the Special Education Director and site administrator, the Paraeducator II works to support instructional activities of special needs students. A majority of the assignment will be spent working directly with students in a capacity that meets learning and physical needs of students as determined by their respective Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). Provide interventions and respond to inappropriate behaviors: assess crisis situations, intervenes and defuses as appropriate.

Requirements / Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required) * 48 (or more) college semester units OR certification of passing the District Paraeducator Exam OR possesses a Certificate of Proficiency examination in compliance with Education Code and No Child Left Behind Act. (required) * Experience working with children with Special Education needs (preferred) ***PLEASE NOTE: The District offers this exam EVERY Thursday at 1 at the PRJUSD District Office; 800 Niblick Rd, Paso Robles.
