Job summary

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must meet one of the following: passing score on a WA Paraeducator Board assessment, or an associate degree or higher, or 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher, or completion of a paraeducator apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering educational programs to a student in various settings.
  • Support daily schedule including outdoor recess, bus arrival/dismissal, and classroom activities.
  • Provide frequent toileting and mobility assistance as needed.

Paraeducator III

Anticipated start date: August 28, 2025 Monday - Thursday: 1 - 3:45 p.m. Weekly working hours: 11 Wage: $26.66 - $31.19 per hour (2025/26 PSE Salary Schedule) PSE PARA PRES M-TH

Position Summary:

Under the direction of a certificated staff member, assists in the delivery of educational programs to a student in a variety of settings. Daily schedule generally includes shifts of outdoor recess, bus arrival/dismissal, and classroom support. Additional needs include frequent toileting and mobility support. Must meet WA State Paraeducator requirements:
  • At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent,

In addition, a paraeducator must also meet one of the following:

  1. Have received a passing score on one of the assessments approved by the Paraeducator Board (www.pesb.wa.gov);
  2. Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.;
  3. Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university;
  4. Have completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.
Upon hire, successful candidate must provide:
  1. Acopy of a High School diploma or HS transcripts, or acceptable equivalent document.
  2. Official post secondary transcript(s).
Benefit Eligibility:
  • Insurance: This position is not eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.
  • Retirement Plans: This position is eligible for a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan.
  • Paid Holidays:This position is eligible for up to 13paid holidays per year.The number of holidays depends on employee's start and end dates.
  • Paid Time Off: Employees working 12 months per year earn 12 days of paid vacation per school year. Employees working 237 - 260 days per school year earn 12 days of sick leave. Up to 3 days of personal leave may be granted each school year. Vacation, sick leave, and personal leave are based on scheduled hours and position start date.
