Higley Unified School District is seeking a Paraeducator II for Special Education at 60 Coronado Elementary in Gilbert, AZ. The role involves supporting teachers, assisting with individual and small-group instruction, and supervising students in various settings.

Qualificações

• High school Diploma required.
• Current CPR and First Aid cards required (no online classes).
• Capable of working with children one-on-one and in groups.
• Ability to work with students with disabilities including emotional, autistic, mildly mentally disabled and non-verbal students.
• Ability to relate to students and teachers in a positive manner; build trust.
• Proficiency in instruction, basic academics, problem solving and managing work assignments.
• Ability to pass background and reference checks; valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Maintain CPI certification (training available upon hire).

Responsabilidades

• Instruct individually or in small groups to reinforce material introduced by the teacher.
• Supervise students during drills, assemblies, lunch, and field trips.
• Alert the teacher to problems or important information about a student.
• Implement behavioral plans under direction to support positive behavior.
• Work with students across settings including classrooms, recess and lunch.
• Restrain only as needed using CPI strategies taught.
• Support students with activities of daily living as trained and documented for Medicaid reimbursement.
• Attend meetings and in-service training as required.
