Job summary

Everett Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator to support students under the Special Education program. The role involves assisting with IEP implementation, addressing academic, behavioral, social, and adaptive needs, and supporting health-related plans as defined in each student’s plan.

Training like Right Response may be required depending on the program and student needs. Responsibilities may include assisting with Behavior Intervention Plans and possibly riding the bus with a student.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Experience addressing academic, behavior/social, and adaptive needs of students.
• Ability to assist in implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
• Ability to assist with health plans, toileting plans, and medical delegations per student plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing IEPs and BIPs for students.
• Support academic, behavioral, social, and adaptive needs of students.
• Assist in health and toileting plans and medical delegations as required.
• May require Right Response training depending on program and student needs.
• May accompany a student on the school bus as needed.

The Extended Resource program is a service for students who have mild to moderate delays in general intellectual functioning, existing concurrently with deficits in adaptive behavior.
