Job summary

Naugatuck Public Schools is seeking a Para-Educator at the Early Childhood Center. Under a certified teacher, you will work one-to-one or with small groups, reinforce instruction, and help maintain materials and records.

You will assist with daily classroom setup, adapt activities for students with special needs, and support across subjects. Reporting to the principal and special services staff, you’ll participate in IEP meetings as required.

Qualifications

• Work with students under teacher supervision, on a one-to-one or small-group basis.
• Reinforce instruction and maintain classroom materials and records.
• Follow confidentiality rules and school policies.
• Assist with transportation-related duties when assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing classroom for start and end of school year.
• Maintain classroom environment and learning centers; set up audio-visual equipment.
• Support teacher with group and individual lessons as needed.
• Support art, music, PE and other activities as appropriate.
• Participate in PPT/IEP meetings when required.
