You will provide direct instructional support under the direction of a classroom or special education teacher at developmentally appropriate levels.

Job description

The Amherst Public School District is seeking a full time highly trained Paraeducator to work in our Chestnut Street Academy, serving 6th grade students with a range of disabilities.

This position includes providing direct support and instruction to student(s) under the direction of either a classroom teacher or a special education teacher at developmentally appropriate levels.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee may also be required to use physical interventions to maintain the safety of students.
