Harbour Pointe Middle School in Mukilteo, WA is seeking a Paraeducator (Job 26-0513 HP). 6.5 hours per day, 180 days per year, with benefits. Anticipated start date is immediately. Hours: 7:50 a.m.

– 2:50 p.m. The role supports the teacher with students who have diverse learning needs and challenging behaviors. The successful candidate will collaborate in a self-contained classroom, assist with IEP goals, and provide safety and personal care as required.

Qualifications

• WA para qualifications required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with self-contained classrooms and youth with behavioral challenges preferred.
• Experience with students with diverse learning needs is desirable.
• Willingness to complete Safety Care or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with daily supervision to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Administer tests, collect and maintain data, update records, and assess progress.
• Support teacher with behavior management and observe student progress.
• Implement strategies to address diverse student needs and support learning goals.
• Provide clerical support, prepare materials, and assist with classroom operations.
• Administer first aid, medical assistance, and personal care when needed.
• Assist with crossing guard duties before and after school.
• Monitor cafeteria and recess, ensuring student safety and order.
• Participate in meetings and trainings to support school initiatives.
