Job summary

Snohomish School District is seeking a Paraeducator B for Developmental Preschool to assist with individual and small group instruction and support students with IEPs in a dynamic learning environment.

You will collaborate with the building administrator and SPED teacher to implement accommodations, promote independence and ensure access to education for students aged 3–5 with developmental delays.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18+ years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meet one of the listed qualifications: paraeducator-related certifications, degree credits, or FCS-Paraeducator Certificate.
  • Ability to meet the qualifications as listed on the job description.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with individualized and small group instruction for students with various needs.
  • Provide direct support to students to access education through academic support, behavior management and fostering independence.
  • Collaborate with staff to implement accommodations and strategies to promote student success.
  • Assignments are not fixed to specific students and may be reassigned based on teacher discretion.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Building Administrator andSpecial Education Teacher, will assist with individualized and small group instruction for students of all educational levels who have physical or behavioral needs or are medically fragile. Paraeducators assist students with the unique needs outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEP). This vital role involves providing direct support to students, helping them access their education through academic support, behavior management, and fostering independence. While you may work one-on-one with a student or within small groups, it is important to note that assignments are not fixed to specific students. Staff members are assigned based on current needs and teacher discretion, which allows us to adapt and reassign support to maximize effectiveness for all students. This position requires effective collaboration with other staff to implement necessary accommodations and strategies that promote student success. Specific responsibilities for this position are as described on the attached job description.

Students Served

Preschool students aged 3-5 with moderate to significant delays in one or more of the 5 developmental areas: motor, communication, personal social skills, adaptive skills or cognition.

Salary Range

$28.91 - $32.74/hour Paraeducator B per 2026-27 Public School Employees Salary Schedule

Above pay rates do not include holiday and pay in lieu of vacation, which increases the hourly compensation

Work Schedule
  • Shift: Monday through Thursday 8:00 to 11:30a.m. and Friday 8:00 to 10:30 a.m.
  • Calendar: 9 months/year; enjoy time off during spring break, winter break and summer, plus 10 paid holidays
Qualifications
  • Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent, and meet one (1) of the following:
  • Have received a score of 455 on the ETS ParaPro ( https://www.ets.org/parapro ),or a qualifying score on the Pearson Paraprofessional assessmentor Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Training Program
  • Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university
  • Upon hire, must completethe Fundamental Course of Study (FCS)-Paraeducator Certificate.
  • Ability to meet the qualifications as listed on the job description for this position.
