Job summary

Snohomish School District is seeking a dedicated paraeducator to support K-6 students in small groups and in one-to-one instructional settings. The role operates under the Building Administrator with the 2026-27 school-year scope and a schedule of weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The position requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with options for additional education credits or an approved paraeducator assessment. Employment hinges on background checks and district approval.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess an associate degree or 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher, or have passed designated Paraeducator assessments.
• Upon hire, complete the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS)-Paraeducator Certificate.
• Ability to meet the qualifications listed in the job description for this position.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Building Administrator is responsible for supporting the elementary educational process. Specific responsibilities for this position are as described on the attached job description. This is a temporary position for the 2026-2027 school year.

Special Duties/Responsibilities

This position will support K-6 students in small groups and 1:1 instructional settings.

Salary Range

$27.38 - $31.13 Paraeducator A per 2026-27 Public School Employees Salary Schedule.

Above pay rates do not include holiday and pay in lieu of vacation, which increases the hourly compensation.

Work Schedule

• Start Date: September 14, 2026
• Shift: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
• Calendar: 9 months/year; enjoy time off during spring break, winter break and summer, plus 10 paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent, and meet one (1) of the following:
  • Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or
  • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university; or
  • Passed one of the following Professional Educator Standards Board approved assessments:
    • ETS ParaPro Assessment Score of 455 or higher (https://www.ets.org/parapro )
    • Para Pathways Score of 324 in Reading and Writing and a Score of 325 in Mathematics
    • Pearson Paraprofessional AssessmentScore of 220 or higher
    • Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Training Program Score of 65% or higher
• Upon hire, must completethe Fundamental Course of Study (FCS)-Paraeducator Certificate.
• Ability to meet the qualifications as listed on the job description for this position.
