Qualifications

• Para-Educator I: High school diploma required.
• Para-Educator II: 2 years of study (48 credits) at an institution of higher education or an Associate's Degree or higher or Paraeducator II certification from NH DOE.
• Experience with children and adolescents in an educational setting.
• Must be able to instruct students in math, reading, science, social studies, art, and related subjects.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, assist teachers, program coordinators, and specialists with instructional and clerical duties for students with mental, emotional, or multiple handicaps.
• Perform instructional tasks with limited supervision.
• Develop basic teaching materials and instructional aids.
• Assist students individually or in groups with lessons.
• Assist students to and from transportation, during recess, lunch and other school periods.
