Job summary

School Administrative Unit 74 District Wide in Barrington, New Hampshire seeks a caring paraeducator for the 2026-27 school year to support students with disabilities across academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. Requirements include a high school diploma (or equivalent) and preferably NHDOE Paraeducator certification or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred NHDOE Paraeducator I or II certification or eligibility.
• Experience and other qualifications as specified by the Superintendent.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of reading, mathematics and writing as determined by the special education teacher or related service provider.
• Perform curriculum skills in courses including social studies, science, and specials (PE, music, art, computer) under supervision.
• Use a variety of technologies, including assistive technologies, to help students develop reading, writing, and learning skills.
• Demonstrate knowledge of developmental stages age 3–15 and various risk factors that affect development.
• Be sensitive to diversity in cultures, lifestyles, and values; observe applicable laws and safeguards.
• Assist with maintaining a safe, healthy learning environment and organize materials to support teaching and learning.
• Support students’ independence and effective problem solving; adapt materials and equipment for learning needs.
