Job summary

Everett Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator (Special Education) to support students with individualized plans and collaborate with teaching staff. This role follows the district’s IEP and health-related plans, providing direct assistance in academic, behavioral, and adaptive needs within a Life Skills context.

The position operates on a 6.5-hour day for 195 days per year, with potential Right Response training and bus assistance as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with special needs is preferred.
• Ability to follow Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs).
• Strong communication and teamwork with school staff.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the implementation of Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
• Addressing academic, behavior/social, and/or adaptive needs of students.
• Assisting implementation of Behavior Intervention plan.
• Assisting in the health plan, toileting plan, and/or medical delegations depending on students' individualized plan.
• May require Right Response training; depending on program and student needs.
• May require riding the bus with a student.

Life Skills Program

The Life Skills program is a service for students with significant cognitive and academic delays, existing concurrently with deficits in adaptive behavior. These programs are for students who will likely need a life-skills or functional approach to academic instruction.
