Job summary

Lauren’s Institute for Education (L.I.F.E.) is seeking enthusiastic Paraprofessionals to support individuals with developmental disabilities in education and therapy settings. You’ll help clients meet personal and life skills goals within a supportive, mission-driven team.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily routines, transitions, hygiene, aquatic supervision, data collection, and collaboration with therapists and behavior analysts. Previous experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 18+ age minimum; able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to swim and supervise in water; driver’s license if transporting.

• Participate in behavior and therapeutic programs.

WhatYou’llDo:

• Support children, teens, or adults with developmental disabilities inprogram spaces created to meet the needs of all we serve
• Help clients meet personal, academic, or life skills goals
• Assistwith transitions, hygiene care, daily routines, and community outings
• Participate in behavior and therapeutic programs
• Supervise during aquatic activities and provide physical support
• Collect data and collaborate with a supportive, interdisciplinary team
• All other duties assigned

WhatYou’llNeed:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be 18+ and able tolift upto 50lbs
• Ability to swim and supervise in water
• Valid driver’s license (if assigned to transport clients)
• CPR/First Aid, Article 9, and Prevention & Support (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience with developmental disabilities preferred

L.I.F.E. Pathways and Academy department maintain a low student/learner to instructor ratio and has extensive support from specialty therapists and behavior analysts. This position may be placed in Pathways to Independence, Pathways to Employment, or Pathways to Adulthood, or the Academy depending on where the need is greatest.

• First year of employment: unpaid scheduled breaks
