Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Paramedical Assistant to join our 'ohana supporting a residential behavioral health care setting!

Job Description

• Perform a variety of nursing support tasks for individuals with mental illness in a health facility setting
• Assist patients/residents with personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Take vital signs, measure output, and recognize abnormal signs and symptoms
• Observe and report changes in patients' condition, behavior, or skin colorAssist, lift, and transfer patients as needed
• Respond quickly and calmly to emergency or unpredictable situations
• Follow detailed instructions and close guidance from supervising staff
• Maintain patience, tact, and an even temperament when working with a variety of individuals
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• Hard skills: Knowledge of personal hygiene and bodily care; ability to read, write, speak, and understand simple sentences in English; ability to follow oral and written instructions precisely; physically able to assist, lift, and transfer patients and respond quickly to emergencies
• Soft skills: Patient, empathetic, and comfortable working closely with individuals who have a variety of disabilities and mental health needs; even-tempered and emotionally stable under pressure; strong sense of respect and care ethics; reliable and willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
