Kahu Malama Nurses in Kaneohe, HI is seeking a Paramedical Assistant to join our team in a residential behavioral health care setting.

This temporary role offers a fixed pay of $24 per hour, with NOC hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and requires evening, weekend, and holiday availability.

An entry-level candidate can apply; duties include nursing support, personal care, vital signs, and emergency response under supervision.

• Hard skills: knowledge of personal hygiene and bodily care; ability to read, write, speak, and understand simple sentences in English; ability to follow oral and written instructions precisely; physically able to assist, lift, and transfer patients and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Soft skills: patient, empathetic, even-tempered under pressure; respectful and caring; reliable and flexible with hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing support tasks for individuals with mental illness in a health facility setting.
• Assist patients with personal care activities (bathing, dressing, toileting).
• Take vital signs and recognize abnormal signs.
• Observe and report changes in patients' condition or skin color.
• Assist, lift, and transfer patients as needed.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and follow supervising staff guidance.

Job Description:

1. Perform a variety of nursing support tasks for individuals with mental illness in a health facility setting
2. Assist patients/residents with personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
3. Take vital signs, measure output, and recognize abnormal signs and symptoms
4. Observe and report changes in patients' condition, behavior, or skin color
5. Assist, lift, and transfer patients as needed
6. Respond quickly and calmly to emergency or unpredictable situations
7. Follow detailed instructions and close guidance from supervising staff
8. Maintain patience, tact, and an even temperament when working with a variety of individuals
9. Perform other related duties as assigned

Position Requirements:
