Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. seeks legal counsel or paralegal with experience in acquiring and securing IP. The role targets individuals who can translate IP issues into clear business terms and help manage risk in potential acquisitions.

Responsibilities

• Proactive and creative approaches to help secure IP.
• Simplified implementing opportunities to maximize IP protection to resolve IP disputes/litigation on favorable terms and to align IP strategy with business plans.
• Ability to convert IP legal issues into readily understandable business issues.
• Assess alternatives for filling gaps in the execution of IP strategies.
• Identify and evaluate IP risks associated with potential acquisition targets, including IP ownership issues, transferability of licenses and freedom-to-operate for the target’s product offerings.
