Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have ETS Paraeducator Assessment, or an Associate of Arts degree, or 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at an accredited institution, or have completed a registered apprenticeship program, or foreign degrees evaluated by a NACES member.
• Licensing: First Aid/CPR certification may be required in some assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provides for the physical, health and safety needs of students.
• Provides social, emotional, behavioral, and educational support for students with significant disabilities.
• Implements components of IEPs as required.
• Provides direct academic, functional, vocational and specially designed instruction.
• Serves as advocate and support for students with disabilities in their least restrictive environment.
