Lake Washington School District is seeking a paraeducator to assist teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students with physical or behavioral needs or medically fragile conditions at Einstein Elementary in Redmond.

The position supports students' health care needs and helps develop daily living and behavioral skills while assisting staff with classroom preparation, equipment handling, and supervision on campus and during bus transitions. 180-day calendar, 6 hours per day.

Qualifikationen

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• AA degree or 72 college quarter credits or valid ParaPro/Pearson paraprofessional assessment.
• Official documentation and background check required upon hire.

Position Details

180 day working calendar

Hours Per Day: 6.0

Shift: 9:20 am - 3:55 pm (Shift subject to change).

Location: Einstein Elementary (located within the Redmond Learning Community)

Hourly Rate: $30.79 (SC7ParaEd26-27.pdf) is eligible for membership in the Teamsters Local Union No. 763 which is part of the Lake Washington School District Trades Bargaining Council No. 763 (TBC).

Job Summary

• Assists teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students of all educational levels who have physical or behavioral needs or are medically fragile.
• Supports students' special health care needs and develops daily living and behavioral skills.
• Assists staff with classroom preparation and retrieval, use and storage of equipment and supplies.
• May supervise and assist students in library, classrooms, resource rooms, self-contained classroom, playgrounds, or getting on and off a bus.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR Completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours, OR Passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher.
• Official documentation will be required upon hire.
• Must pass criminal background check.
