Job summary

Muskegon Public Schools is seeking a Para Educator at Bunker Elementary for the 2026/2027 academic year. The role supports classroom teachers, reinforces instructional activities, and assists students with diverse needs.

Applicants must have an associate degree or 60 college hours, or a passing ETS Paraprofessional score, and obtain TCI, CPR/First Aid/AED within required timelines. A pre-employment physical and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher or 60 college hours, or ETS Paraprofessional Assessment score 460.
• Obtain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification within two district training opportunities from hire date.
• Obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification within 60 days of hire.
• Successful pre-employment physical and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in classroom instruction and behavior support.
• Support students with diverse needs in small groups or one-on-one.
• Follow district guidelines and safety protocols; report student concerns as directed.

Salary/Benefits

Commensurate with credentials and level of experience and in accordance with MPS salary schedule. Starting hourly rate $19.67 at 35 hours per week and 185 days per year.
