Job summary

Fergus Falls Public Schools is seeking a Para Educator for Kennedy Secondary School to begin in the 2026-27 school year. • Operate office and school machines; assist middle school staff with materials.
• Move and supervise students to safety during crises (tornadoes, severe weather, lockdowns).
• In-service participation as required.

The Fergus Falls School District is seeking to fill a Para Educator position at Kennedy Secondary School beginning with the 2026-27 school year. This position works 7.25 hours/day and is scheduled 171 days. Hourly wage rate: $20.55 - $22.20/hour.
This position has a benefit package that includes contributions towards health insurance, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, 403b, pension plan; along with sick and personal leave.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The tasks listed below are not intended to limit other tasks that might reasonably be assigned as necessary.

• Daily crosswalk supervision (7:50-8:20 AM & 3:15-3:45 PM):
  • Being visible in and assisting the students with crossing the walkway and keeping the students safe when traffic is approaching.
  • Report any vehicles not following pedestrian zone laws.
• Supervision of students during transitions throughout the day as assigned.
• Assist in classrooms as needed.
• Supervise students placed in the In-School Suspension program and/or the noon-detention program (approximately: 8:20 am - 3:15 pm)
• Operate office and school machines as needed. Assist middle school staff (grades 7/8) with materials as needed.
• Move, if necessary, and supervise students to a safe place during times of crisis, ie:tornados, severe weather, lock-downs, etc. Refer to the red Emergency Information Binder.
• In-service participation as required.
