RISE Services Inc. in Gooding, ID is seeking a Para-Behavioral Interventionist (Para BI) to provide direct school-based intervention for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities, following individualized treatment plans to reduce maladaptive behaviors and promote adaptive skills.

The role emphasizes one-on-one support, progress tracking, teamwork with school personnel, daily progress notes, and clear communication with teachers.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Must pass the ParaPro PRAXIS exam or have 48 college credits.
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and car insurance.
• Must provide or obtain CPR/First Aid Certification (provided by RISE).
• Must provide or obtain MANDT and/or other de-escalation certification training (provided by RISE).
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct one-on-one support to a child or adolescent with a developmental disability in accordance with the treatment plan.
• Provide regular written and verbal progress updates on treatment goals.
• Collaborate and coordinate services with the treatment team in the academic setting.
• Provide daily documentation on progression or regression of goals.
• Communicate effectively with teachers and other providers; defer family communication to appropriate school staff.

THE POSITION

The Para-Behavioral Interventionist (Para BI) provides direct intervention for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities in the school setting. In accordance with the child or adolescent’s plan for treatment, the Para BI’s role is to provide intervention services directed toward decreasing the child or adolescent maladaptive behaviors and encouraging adaptive behaviors in the classroom setting, using reinforcement strategies.
