Job summary

Mad River Local Schools is seeking a Para Aide to support special needs students across assignments as a floater. Starting salary is $18.49 per hour for 6.75 hours per day. Job description

  • Position Type: Support Staff/ Educational Assistant

Para Aide (working with special needs students)

Floater - will be moved to different assignments daily

Starting Salary: $18.49 per hour, 6.75 hours per day

Minimum education is a high school diploma or equivalency.

Must pass BCI and FBI fingerprint checks.

Must be highly qualified.

MINIMUM SKILLS / JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or its equivalency. Must also meet No Child Left Behind standards (i.e., Associate Degree from an accredited institution of higher education or completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education, defined as 48 semester or 72 quarter hours verified by college transcript from an accredited institution of higher education), meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment – knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics or knowledge of, and the ability to assist in readiness for reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated competency with state-of-the art equipment/skills, including data processing, etc. Preferred software knowledge usage – Microsoft Word.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of English reading proficiency.
  • Ability to cope with stressful situations as related to special needs children.
  • Appropriately deal with given medical conditions as required per the student's IEP.
  • Physically capable to safely and appropriately lift and manage special needs children when necessary.
