Job summary

The New York Times is seeking a part-time casual Paperhandler to support our College Point, Queens printing facility. You will read work orders, determine material and equipment needs, and operate Paperhandler machinery in a union environment reporting to the Deputy Plant Manager.

This onsite role requires safety vigilance and teamwork to meet daily deadlines. You will undergo training and then handle nine daily newspaper rolls, maintain proper stacking, and ensure a clean storage area while

Qualifications

• Willing to work flexible hours in a union production environment.
• Ability to stand and lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily duties.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Operate Paperhandler equipment safely.
• Read work orders and prepare paper rolls for printing.
• Inventory and stack paper rolls according to safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean storage area and report incidents to supervisor.
