Job summary

International Paper Prattville Mill is seeking an Area Process Manager Paper to oversee the day-to-day operation of a paper machine, leading safety, quality and productivity initiatives. You will direct salaried and hourly staff, set clear expectations, and drive environmental compliance across the area.

The role emphasizes developing SOPs, training materials, and process improvements while coordinating with other units to optimize production and meet targets.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience in Paper Machine Operations.
• Five+ years of management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience in Paper Machine Operations.
• Demonstrated record of safety commitment and results.
• Instill safety as a core value within the team and effectively communicate a shared vision for safety.
• Quickly develop thorough knowledge of mill equipment and systems.
• Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with groups and individuals at all levels.
• Utilize the International Paper Change Process to drive change.
• Utilize strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of a paper machine and drive safety, quality, productivity and reliability results.
• Develop tools and systems to maintain environmental compliance and permit accuracy.
• Manage training processes and build SOPs, troubleshooting docs, and other training materials.
• Provide leadership to salaried and hourly staff and set clear performance expectations.
• Coordinate with Finished Products and other units to optimize area production and meet mill needs.
