Job summary

Onyx Specialty Papers is seeking a team-oriented production operator to support our paper making processes in a heavy manufacturing environment in Massachusetts. You will work with large machinery, learn our systems, and enter production data accurately.

Responsibilities include core setup, threading, inspection, crane and forklift operation, and ensuring raw materials are available. Weekend premium pay applies when required.

Qualifications

• Be reliable and dependable so you can be counted on during scheduled shifts.
• Ability to learn moderately complex systems.
• Ability to navigate computer screens to locate information and enter data accurately.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs, standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling and climbing ladders.
• Open to rotating shift schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist in paper making activities including cutting cores, core setup, threading, splicing, inspection, and removing rolls.
• Enter production data into the computer for all paper rolls produced.
• Operate large crane to move spools of paper.
• Complete required documentation, reporting, cleaning, and machine wash-ups.
• Ensure provision of raw materials for paper making.
• Operate a forklift.
• Monitor material levels and restock as required.
