Job summary

Ahlstrom Stevens Point Mill is seeking a Paper Machine Co-op for Spring/Summer 2027 to support safety, quality, production and product development objectives on a paper machine process line.

Earn hands-on experience working with Proficy, Centerlining, Optivision and AspenTech while learning from production engineers and coordinators in a team‑focused environment. Living in or relocating to Stevens Point, WI during January–August 2027 is required; authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or similar Engineering degree program.
• Living in or willing to relocate to the Stevens Point, Wisconsin area from January – August 2027.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Strong technical aptitude and proven problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate product improvement or cost optimization projects by conducting trials and drafting trial reports.
• Assist with machine shutdowns and start-ups.
• Learn and provide technical support to process engineers and coordinators on factory software.
• Monitor and analyze process quality and variability to drive improvements.
• Support safety, productivity, and cost-control initiatives.
