Job summary

Ocean Downs Casino in Berlin, MD, is seeking a Pantry Worker for a full-time, year-round role. Pay is $16.20/hour with a benefits package including medical, sick, vacation, personal time, holiday pay and 401k options.

As part of Churchill Downs Incorporated, you will prepare cold foods, ensure quality and presentation, adhere to sanitary codes, and contribute to a fun, guest-focused dining environment.

Qualifications

• Two years pantry cook or similar experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.

Responsibilities

• Prepares cold food items including salads, cold sandwiches and desserts.
• Ensures product quality and presentation to specifications.

JOB SUMMARY

The pay for this position is $16.20 / hour. Exciting opportunity to work at Ocean Downs Casino only 10 minutes from the beautiful beaches and boardwalk of Ocean City, MD! ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creates and ensures a fun-filled, entertaining and exciting environment where the flawless delivery and execution of service excellence is paramount.
• Responsible for preparation of cold food items, including salads, cold sandwiches and desserts.
• Ensures product quality and presentation to specifications.
• Responsible for adherence to sanitary codes as mandated by State, Local and Federal agencies.
• Promotes outstanding customer relations.
• Promotes honesty and trust among the team.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Two (2) years pantry cook or similar experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
• Ability to consistently comprehend, retain and execute written, verbal and demonstrated directions, explanations and guidance.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must be able to lift forty (40) lbs. without difficulty, repeatedly.
• Must be able to sit, walk or stand for extended periods of time without difficulty.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to obtain and keep a License issued by the Maryland State Lottery Agency required of all Gaming Establishment employees
