Job summary

APP Engineering, Inc. in the United States is seeking an Entry Level Technician / Manufacturing. The role supports mechanical and electrical construction of panels used in substations and power plants, and chassis for power recording equipment.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or higher in EET or related field, hands-on experience with basic tools, soldering, and a reading of schematics. Work hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with overtime as needed, and full-time benefits including

Job description

Position:

Entry Level Technician / Manufacturing

Education:

The candidate will possess an associate degree or higher in EET or similar.

Starting - Major Duties:
  • Mechanical and electrical construction of panels used in transmission line substation and power plants.
  • Mechanical and electrical construction of chassis used in power recording equipment
  • Possible Circuit board populating or wire soldering
  • General manufacturing work
  • Assist with packing and shipping.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Other:
  • Experience using hand tools such as drills, taps, scales, soldering irons.
  • Understanding basic electronic circuit theory and the ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Additional experience as an electrical helper, electrical apprentice, electrical maintenance, or mechanic/technician is a plus.
  • Experience as a maintenance technician, construction worker/laborer, or general laborer with trades background may also be considered.
  • Basic soldering.
  • Understanding of point-to-point wiring diagrams and basic mechanical drawings.
  • Understanding of Windows operating systems.
  • Experience in the power engineering or electric utility industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills is a must.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent work ethic with proven ability to self-direct and motivate.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Sit/stand for extended periods.
  • Lift 20-25 lbs.
  • Electronics manufacturing environment.
Work Schedule

7:30 am to 4:00 pm; overtime as needed.

Flexibility in work hours may be possible for someone needing additional courses towards their AS or BS degree.
