Job summary

TEC Systems Group is seeking a skilled electrical assembler in Wichita, KS to read schematics, blueprints and work orders, then assemble and wire electrical systems and support structures. You will install components, modify parts to meet specifications, and ensure conformance through precise measurement and testing.

The ideal candidate has experience with UL508A/UL698A assemblies, NEC code knowledge, and the ability to follow instructions, work independently or with a team, and manage multiple

Qualifications

• Ideally completed related trade/technical coursework.
• Approximately 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Licensed Electrician is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret schematics and work orders to determine materials.
• Assemble electrical systems and install components and wiring.
• Adjust or replace components to meet specifications.
• Position and align work pieces for wiring and assembly.

Job description

Essential Functions

• Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions.
• Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, sub-assemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering or micro-welding equipment.
• Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Position, align, or adjust work pieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly.

Qualifications / Technical Skills

• Familiar with UL508A assembly.
• Familiar with UL698A assembly (preferred but not required).
• Knowledge of NEC code.
• Participate in print development (corrections and suggestions).
• Basic AutoCAD knowledge.
• Ability to produce Marker Cards and Panel Labeling.
• Able to use and understand all precision measuring instruments.
• Understands basic math concepts.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, bills of material, setup sheets, etc.
• Able to use a wide variety of tools.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to continuously sit or stand.
• Must be able to walk long distances and move from one work site to another.
• Must be able to push, pull, reach, bend, squat, crawl, kneel and climb occasionally.
• Subject to environmental conditions inside and out: extreme heat/cold, wind, humidity, etc.
• Subject to noise levels above OSHA thresholds requiring PPE.
• Must have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
