Job summary

Crown Technical Systems is seeking a Panel Department Lead in Fontana, CA to guide a team through manufacturing of panels, wiring, and assemblies. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will oversee daily operations and ensure quality and safety standards.

You will delegate tasks, train new team members, coordinate with other departments, and track progress to meet deadlines. This role emphasizes hands-on leadership, problem solving, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of experience in manufacturing, electrical wiring, or related field.
• Proven experience leading a team of employees.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform work accurately.
• Knowledge of manufacturing, equipment maintenance, and safety management.
• Reading comprehension: interpret and follow blueprints/diagrams.
• Basic math skills to meet specs.
• Basic understanding of common tools such as tape measure and drills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the work of assigned team employees.
• Address minor discipline problems; refer more serious cases to the supervisor.
• Assist with training and orientation for new team members.
• Delegate assignments based on team skills and experience.
• Assist team members with technical issues or advanced problems.
• Inspect work performed by team members.
• Track and log time, materials, and resources; align with production hours.
• Coordinate with supervisors to resolve department issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Coordinate with other department leads to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate with continuity test team to meet testing requirements.
• Provide updates to PM/QA/EE/ME on status and ETA.
• Ensure work orders have item numbers and proper ETAs.
• Ensure packets meet company standards.
• Coordinate with 2nd shift if needed.
• Complete assemblies and wiring as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
