Perdue Farms is seeking a Panel Operator for the 2nd shift in Bridgeville, Delaware. You will control and monitor feed production systems, ensure precise batching, grinding and pelleting, and keep lines running smoothly.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, at least 2 years of experience, basic computer skills, and a mechanical mindset. You will follow safety procedures, coordinate with QC and maintenance, and participate in sampling as needed.

  • Communicate with Quality Control, Mill management and Maintenance.
  • Collect feed samples as required.
  • Coordinate production with dispatchers and bin space.

Summary

As a Panel Operator, you are at the center of feed production, using advanced control systems to ensure every batch is formulated and delivered with precision. You monitor and program computer terminals, operate associated equipment, and guide feed through the proper bins to keep production running smoothly. From managing micro ingredient additions and fat application to operating both computerized and manual grinding systems, your attention to detail and technical skill help ensure consistent quality, efficiency, and performance in every load produced.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 1:00pm - 9:00pm. Weekend/ Saturdays as business needs dictate.

  • Monitor all batching, grinding, and pelleting terminals and associated equipment to ensure an efficient, effective, timely mix of raw feed ingredients to produce the best quality of feed possible.
  • Follow all food safety, breeder, NAE and NICARB program procedures.
  • Ensure that all feeds produced are made per their perspective formulas.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning of some equipment is required.
  • Effectively communicate and cooperate with Quality Control, Mill management and Maintenance personnel.
  • Requires some feed sampling.
  • Coordinate feed production with dispatchers as related to feed orders and available bin space.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • High School or equivalent.
  • 2 years' experience.
  • Reading, writing and math skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Basic computer skills and a mechanical background preferred.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
  • Occasional exposure to outside environmental temperature conditions.
  • Significant amount of time spent in a stationary position making visual observations with occasional bending, stooping or climbing.
  • Able to lift 100 lbs.
  • Exposed to ingredient dust and high noise levels.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment per Company policy.
