Job summary

Johnson Controls in York, PA is seeking a Panel Insulator, 1st Shift to assemble and insulate panels for commercial air handling units. You will read specs, assemble components, install hardware, and ensure quality through careful inspection.

A forklift license is required within 3 months and the role supports safety and teamwork on a fast-paced production line. The position offers a competitive hourly pay range and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma/GED and previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates an attention to detail.
• Ability to read and understand basic instructions and communicate effectively.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Capable of following instructions and solving routine problems.
• Forklift license required (can be obtained within 3 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret specification sheets to identify correct parts.
• Assemble panels and components according to detailed instructions.
• Install windows, hardware, and purchased parts into assemblies.
• Apply insulation to panels as specified.
• Label panels for tracking and organize them for delivery.
• Operate forklifts and other tools to move materials and complete tasks.
• Complete production logs and deviation reports.
• Disassemble and correct improperly assembled or damaged panels.
• Use rivet guns, air guns, knives, and handheld spot welders.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient workflow.
• Follow all safety protocols and report unsafe conditions.
