Job summary

VanZandt Controls/Eagle Automation, based in Fort Worth, TX, seeks a Panel Fabrication/Assembly Technician to read electrical drawings, build and test panels, and troubleshoot wiring and electro‑mechanical systems. The role is onsite at our Fort Worth office and supports a fast‑paced, safety‑driven production environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in panel/automation roles, a high school diploma (associate degree preferred), and strong problem‑solving and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree is highly desirable.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and panel layouts is essential.
• Ability to read drawings and troubleshoot wiring and electro‑mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical drawings for panel fabrication.
• Construct and assemble control panels from layout to completion.
• Identify components from drawings and physically on panels.
• Troubleshoot wiring and electro‑mechanical devices in panels.
• Assist with assembly of other products as required.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and adhere to safety rules.

Position

The Panel Fabrication/Assembly Technician is located at our Fort Worth, TX Office. Become a part of an energetic, highly motivated, and successful team at VandZandt Controls and Eagle Automation.

Primary Responsibilities Include

• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
• Construct and assemble panels from layout to completion.
• Identify electrical panel components physically and by drawing interpretation.
• Ability to troubleshoot panel wiring.
• Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical devices.
• Assist with assembly of other products as required.
• Use of small hand tools, tape measure, speed square, and small power tools.
• Use of Multi-meter and Insulation Tester
• Soldering of components when required.
• Keep a clean and orderly work station/area.
• Understand safety in the work place as it applies to yourself, others, and property.

Required Skills

• Good background in electrical schematic reading, component layout, wiring methods, electrical machine assembly, trouble shooting and problem solving.
• Knowledge of UL508, NEMA electrical standards, and National Electric Code a plus!
• Normal Color Vision
• Attention to Detail and Quality Workmanship
• Assist with assembly of other products as required
• Part of a self-directed work force requiring minimal supervision, must have good communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds

Experience

1-3 years as Panel Builder, Automation Technician, Controls Technician, or equivalent.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent required. Associate's degree in Industrial Electrical/Electronics Technology or similar is highly desirable.
