Job summary

Chart Industries in Windsor, CT, is seeking a Control Panel Technician to perform machining and assembly of standard and custom control panels, wiring per diagrams, and testing of completed units on site.

The role requires reading engineering documentation, using hand tools, and following safety guidelines. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a high school diploma or GED.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking are required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read engineering documentation (drawings, test specifications).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with three-phase motors.
• Ability to use a variety of hand tools.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Electrical background or certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform machining and assembly operations on standard and custom control panels.
• Conduct wiring from diagrams, schematics, and complex blueprints.
• Drill, tap, punch holes and create cutouts in enclosures and panels.
• Assemble end-wired electrical control panels with components (operators, pilot lights, pushbuttons, relays, starters, PLCs, etc.).
• Test functional operation of units and troubleshoot as needed.
• Read and follow blueprints and engineering standards.
• Follow all safety guidelines.

This is an onsite position.

What Will You Do?

• Perform a variety of machining and assembly operations on various standard and custom control panels.
• Conduct wiring from diagrams, schematics, and complex blueprints.
• Perform drilling, tapping, hole punching and cutouts in enclosures and panels.
• Assemble end wire electrical control panels Including operators, pilot lights, pushbuttons, selector *itches, relays, timers, contactors, starters, alternators, controllers, recorders, transmitters, PLC's and similar equipment.
• Test functional operation of the complete unit and perform troubleshooting procedures.
• Read and follow blueprint
• Follow all safety guidelines.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require...

• Standing for long periods of time
• Stooping, bending, lifting up to 30lbs
• Walking throughout the production floor

Your Experience Should Be...

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
