Job summary

Hoekstra Electrical Services in Holland, MI, is seeking an experienced Panel Builder / Machine Wiring Technician to assemble and wire custom industrial control panels and machinery per engineering drawings.

You will install components, terminate devices, perform testing and commissioning, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field electricians to ensure on-time, high-quality project completion.

Qualifications

• Experience building and wiring industrial control panels.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
• Experience with machine wiring and equipment installation.
• Knowledge of control wiring, PLC I/O, relays, motor starters, and VFDs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire custom industrial control panels.
• Install and terminate electrical components and control systems.
• Wire machinery according to engineering drawings.
• Perform quality checks and testing of panels and systems.
• Troubleshoot wiring and control issues during assembly and startup.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field electricians to ensure project completion.
• Maintain compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and quality expectations.

We're Looking for Someone With:

• Experience building and wiring industrial control panels
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
• Experience with machine wiring and equipment installation
• Knowledge of control wiring, PLC I/O, relays, motor starters, and VFDs
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and pride in keeping work areas clean and efficient
• A valid driver's license and insurability
• Willingness to learn, grow, and mentor others as opportunities arise
